I’m a Bichon Frise, and my passion in life is helping people who are grieving, or lonely ─ or just need to think that somebody cares. At Bays Family Law, I provide a comforting presence to clients who experience strong emotions. I am a JLAP (Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program) volunteer and look pretty good in my official purple vest, if I may say so myself.I’m also a Paws & Think therapy dog. Thanks to the good folks at Paws & Think, I’ve been petted and cuddled by folks all over central Indiana: Humane Society fairs in Hendricks and Hamilton Counties, Deer Run Elementary, the Eiteljorg Museum, Hoosier Village Retirement Center, Spring Mill Meadows, Brooke’s Place, Camp Healing Tree, and probably others that I can’t remember.
I’m a feisty little Rat Terrier. I’ve been the Bays Family Law mascot since 2011. I was named after a famous lawsuit that established the right to counsel. Jennifer fell in love with me at first sight while I was staying at the Southside Animal Shelter. At the time, I was really sad because I had just come back from an adoption that failed when my first mom’s cancer returned and had to be hospitalized. I’m so glad I got a second chance!I’m usually behind the scenes at BFL, so you might not see much of me, but don’t let that worry you. I’ll be there to keep your lawyers and paralegals in line. I mean, Mordecai may be the official “therapy dog,” but it’s my job to keep his spirits up.
